Auspicious Beginnings has become a yearly ritual at the Blue Mounds Dharma Center. In this class, we use yogic techniques to quiet the mind and center ourselves. From this state of mind, we focus on our hopes and dreams for the upcoming year. With this intention, we flow through a variety of yogic asana and pranayama to refresh and renew as we head into the New Year.

Nuad Bo Rarn (Traditional Thai Massage) is a beautiful and elegant ancient therapeutic healing modality. It embodies the practice of “loving -kindness†and consists of slow rhythmic compressions on the muscles, gentle flowing stretches and thumb presses on specific energetic pathways. Traditional Thai is performed in a quiet meditative atmosphere on a mat on the floor. This enables the practitioner to use graceful whole body movements and even pressure.
Intermediate Modern Dance will explore modern dance concepts of suspension, release, flow, dynamics and breath. Stylistically, class is quite physical and combines quirky gestures, sensual musicality and upside down movements that work in and out of the floor. Class is appropriate for dancers with experience in modern, ballet, and/or jazz techniques.
