9 - 11AM: Yoga is more than body - even more than mind/body. Yoga tones the whole of the practitioner: body, mind and spirit. Through removal of blockages in the nadis (energy channels), a clear, robust vitality reveals itself. Using asana, pranayama, bhanda and kriya, experience a calm vitality that opens the door to your inner life.
2 - 5PM: We mention the breathing frequently in yoga classes, though the actual physiology of breathing is rarely discussed. Learn the physiology of breathing, the relationship of breathing to posture and commonly found breathing pathologies. Using video footage, lecture and demonstrations, students will learn the proper mechanics of healthy breathing. As breathing bridges the mind and body, participants will also learn specifics exercises to address anxiety and insomnia.
